As the wind off the Naka River starts to cool, Nakasu Hakatabune (中洲 博多舟) — Fukuoka City’s only yakatabune (roofed pleasure boat) — is adding mizutaki, a hotpot built around Hanamidori, Hakata’s well-known brand of chicken. Picture a steaming pot in front of you while the neon of Nakasu shimmers on the water outside the window: this is a plan for one of those early-autumn evenings.

1. What is the Hakatabune-exclusive mizutaki?
Nakasu Hakatabune has teamed up with Trizen Foods, which runs the well-known mizutaki brand Hakata Hanamidori, to serve a boat-exclusive “Hakata Hanamidori-supervised mizutaki,” due to start from around the end of September 2026. The hotpot uses Kyushu-raised Hanamidori chicken and a broth made from Kyushu chicken leg bones and whole chickens. The accompanying ponzu is the boat’s own recipe, a house-made blend of orange, kabosu, daidai and other citrus, given aroma with bonito flakes. Terms of service and prices may still change.

Hanamidori is raised in open-sided coops, and Hakatabune describes eating this mizutaki with the Nakasu night view through the window as “a dining experience only a yakatabune can give.” More detail is in the PR TIMES release (Japanese).
2. Price, departure times and group size
The mizutaki course is ¥8,800 per person, tax and boarding fee included, and a shared-boat booking needs a minimum of 2 people. Departure times and the minimum group size for a private charter follow the boat’s own operating conditions.
