1. Can I run?
Kagoshima Marathon Executive Committee
The marathon (42.195 km) is on a course certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations. It starts in front of the former Dolphin Port site, turns at Shigetomi in Aira City and finishes in front of Kagoshima City Hall. The time limit is 7 hours, with 9 cut-off points. Run Japan’s page for the race lists the marathon as open to people aged 18 and over.
Wheelchairs and guide dogs are not allowed for safety reasons. Runners with a guide or support runner arrange them themselves.
2. How do I enter?
Kagoshima Marathon Executive Committee
The official guidelines say people living outside Japan should enter through Run Japan as overseas entries, so residents of Japan enter on RUNNET. Entry is online only.
- Open the marathon entry on RUNNET. Use the full marathon entry page (Japanese), linked from the official website. You need an email address.
- Choose the general category. The “registered” category is for runners registered with the athletics federation, who must also add their name in roman letters on RUNNET first.
- Enter by October 31, 23:59. You can also enter as a family or group of 2 to 4 people.
Important
After you enter, you cannot change your race, correct your details or cancel. The guidelines say race numbers are posted to runners in mid-February 2027.
For people living overseas, Run Japan’s page for the race is in English. It shows the same entry period and a fee of ¥20,000.
3. Who do I ask?
