Compare six paid indoor play areas for children in Ehime Prefecture: weekday prices, ages, parking and what to bring at KIT PLAY, The Kids, Tondemi, Kidsland US and Niko Niko Garden.

On a rainy or hot day in Ehime Prefecture, a paid indoor play area is a place for your child to run around. This guide compares six of them: KIT PLAY and The Kids Matsuyama Mitsukoshi in Matsuyama City, Tondemi Ehime in Masaki Town, Kidsland US Ehime Toon in Toon City, The Kids Imabari Umagoe in Imabari City and Niko Niko Garden Niihama in Niihama City. It compares ages, weekday prices, parking and what each one asks you to bring.

  • A child and an adult spending a weekday at Niko Niko Garden pays ¥800 in total. The same weekday at The Kids costs ¥1,500 and at Kidsland US ¥1,700 (our sums from each official price list).
  • Parking is free at Tondemi Ehime, Kidsland US and The Kids Imabari. KIT PLAY gives free parking for up to 8 hours when you use it.
  • KIT PLAY, Kidsland US and The Kids say children cannot enter without a guardian. KIT PLAY and Tondemi also ask for socks.

1. How do I get to each one?

Depends on the facility

In central Matsuyama you can reach two of them by train or tram, and the others are in shopping centers with large free parking lots.

  • KIT PLAY. A 1-minute walk from JR Matsuyama Station, or within 1 minute on foot from the Matsuyama-ekimae tram stop (Iyotetsu city tram). By car, its page gives about 20 minutes from Matsuyama IC via Route 33, about 30 minutes from Iyo IC via Route 56 and about 1 hour from Imabari IC via Route 196, without traffic.
  • The Kids Matsuyama Mitsukoshi. Matsuyama Mitsukoshi’s page says it is 0 minutes on foot from Ookaido stop (Iyotetsu city tram).
  • Tondemi Ehime. It is inside Emifull MASAKI, next to Koizumi Station on the Iyotetsu Gunchu Line. Tondemi’s page says it is about 15 minutes by train from central Matsuyama. By car, Emifull MASAKI is about 6 km from Iyo IC and about 8 km from Matsuyama IC.
  • Kidsland US, The Kids Imabari and Niko Niko Garden. These are in shopping centers: Cools Mall in Toon, Soyora Imabari Umagoe and Marunaka Niihama Honten. Their pages list the parking described in each section.

2. KIT PLAY (空想こども天国 KIT PLAY)

Matsuyama City

KIT PLAY is on the third floor of Kisuke BOX (キスケBOX) in front of JR Matsuyama Station, and Kisuke Co., Ltd. runs it. Its page lists a net-climbing tree, a climbing wall 6.5 m high (110 cm and taller), a play area for ages 0–3, a ball-shooting game, a cafe, a nursing room and a diaper-changing space.

The standard plan for non-members costs ¥800 per 30 minutes on weekdays, ¥2,300 for 2 hours, ¥2,900 for 3 hours and ¥3,600 for 5 hours. On weekends and holidays it is ¥850 per 30 minutes, ¥2,350 for 2 hours, ¥3,100 for 3 hours and ¥3,750 for 5 hours. Children aged 2–6 pay ¥750 on weekdays and ¥950 on weekends and holidays for unlimited time. Ages 0–1 are free. The plan includes shoes and a juice bar. The page also lists member prices and a plan for students and seniors, which this guide does not cover.

  • Hours. Weekdays 10:00–18:00, weekends and holidays 10:00–20:00.
  • Who can enter. Elementary school children and younger cannot enter alone. An adult aged 18 or over must come with them.
  • Socks. Socks are required. You can buy a pair on the day for ¥200.
  • Parking. The Kisuke BOX lot is open 24 hours and holds 1,130 cars. Use is free for up to 8 hours when you use KIT. Show the parking ticket at the KIT front desk.

3. The Kids Matsuyama Mitsukoshi (ザキッズ 松山三越店)

Matsuyama City

The Kids is on the 6th floor of Matsuyama Mitsukoshi. Its page lists a trampoline, bouldering, a ball pool, a block corner, a play-house corner, game machines, massage chairs and a food and rest corner. On weekdays a child’s all-day pack is ¥1,000 and a guardian’s all-day pack is ¥500.

  • Holiday prices. A child’s all-day pack is ¥1,500 and a 3-hour pack is ¥1,200. A guardian pays ¥500. Holidays include weekends, public holidays and school spring, summer and winter breaks.
  • Other plans. A 30-minute trial is ¥500. A night pack costs ¥500 per person (weekdays 16:00–18:00, holidays 16:00–19:00).
  • Hours. Weekdays 10:00–18:00 (last entry 17:30). Holidays 10:00–19:00 (last entry 18:30).
  • Ages and rules. The Kids FAQ says ages 0 to 12, and children cannot enter without a guardian. You can go in and out after check-in. You may bring food and eat at the table seats, but not alcohol. Tattoos must be covered.
  • Parking. Matsuyama Mitsukoshi offers parking services for its shoppers: 2 hours free for ¥2,000 or more in a day’s purchases, and 3 hours free for ¥5,000 or more at the main building lot. Its page does not say how this applies to The Kids, so ask.

4. Tondemi Ehime in Emifull MASAKI (トンデミ愛媛)

Masaki Town

Tondemi is an indoor athletic park run by Bandai Namco. It has a trampoline area, a rope walk, an air obstacle course, climbing walls, and a separate Kids Area for younger children. Tondemi admission is ¥2,200 and the Kids Area is ¥900 for an all-day visit; WEB booking makes them ¥2,100 and ¥800. Guardian entry is ¥0, and up to 2 guardians enter free for each child who uses Tondemi or the Kids Area. Guardians cannot join the activities unless they pay the Tondemi fee. On some days, such as long holidays, the stay is limited to 120 minutes.

  • Who can join Tondemi. People 110 cm or taller and between 20 kg and 120 kg. Elementary school children need a guardian (a high school student does not count).
  • Kids Area. Children aged 3 and over who are 120 cm or shorter. Children aged 0–2 can enter free but cannot play.
  • Socks. From your second visit, bring your Tondemi socks. The page says it costs ¥300 if you forget them.
  • Hours. The start time changes by day, so check the opening-hours calendar on its page.
  • Parking. Emifull MASAKI’s free parking lot holds about 5,200 cars.

5. Kidsland US Ehime Toon (キッズランドUS 愛媛東温店)

Toon City

The play area is on the second floor of Cools Mall in Toon. On weekdays a child’s 1-hour pack is ¥800 and the all-day pack is ¥1,000, and a guardian’s all-day pack is ¥700. On holidays the child’s 1-hour pack is ¥800 and the 3-hour pack is ¥1,300, and the guardian pays ¥700. Age 0 is free. An evening pack is ¥800, from 15:00 on weekdays and from 17:00 on holidays.

  • Hours. Weekdays 10:00–18:00, holidays 10:00–19:00.
  • Ages and rules. The facility is for ages 0 to 12 (elementary year 6). Children can enter only with a guardian aged 18 or over. If you leave and come back, the child and the guardian must come together. The guardian may change.
  • Food. Bringing food is allowed. Eat in the food corner. Alcoholic drinks, including non-alcoholic versions of them, cannot be brought in.
  • Disability discount. If a child aged 1 or over shows a disability certificate, one accompanying guardian enters free.
  • Payment. Credit cards, code payments and electronic money.
  • Parking. Free, 2,300 spaces.

6. The Kids Imabari Umagoe (ザキッズ そよら今治馬越店)

Imabari City

The Kids is on the third floor of Soyora Imabari Umagoe. On weekdays a child’s all-day pack is ¥1,000 and a guardian’s is ¥500, and it is open 10:00–19:00 every day. On holidays a child’s all-day pack is ¥1,500 and a 3-hour pack is ¥1,200. A 30-minute trial is ¥500. A family night pack (16:00–19:00) is ¥1,300 on weekdays and ¥1,500 on holidays.

  • Hours. Every day 10:00–19:00 (last entry 18:30).
  • Ages and rules. The same Kids FAQ as above applies: ages 0 to 12, a guardian is required, and you can go in and out after check-in.
  • Parking. The AEON Style Imabari Umagoe lots are free: the lot in front of the store holds 425 cars (height limit 3.8 m) and the second lot holds 421 (height limit 2.7 m). They are open 7:00–23:00.

7. Niko Niko Garden Niihama (ニコニコ・ガーデン 新居浜店)

Niihama City

This indoor play area is on the second floor of Marunaka Niihama Honten, for ages 0 to 12. On weekdays a child pays ¥500 for free time. On weekends and holidays a child pays ¥500 for 60 minutes or ¥800 for free time; an adult pays ¥300 on any day. A second or later child aged 0 is free. Adults can swap during the visit.

  • Hours. 10:00–20:00 (last entry 19:00).
  • Parking. The Marunaka Niihama Honten page lists 500 parking spaces.

8. What does a weekday cost for one child and one adult?

Our sums from official weekday prices

These sums add up the official weekday prices. Holidays are different.

  • Niko Niko Garden Niihama: child free time ¥500 + adult ¥300 = ¥800.
  • The Kids (Matsuyama Mitsukoshi, Imabari Umagoe): child all-day pack ¥1,000 + guardian ¥500 = ¥1,500.
  • Kidsland US Ehime Toon: child all-day pack ¥1,000 + guardian ¥700 = ¥1,700.
  • Tondemi Ehime: Kids Area ¥900 + guardian ¥0 = ¥900. For an elementary school child 110 cm or taller, the Tondemi fee is ¥2,200 and guardian entry is free.
  • KIT PLAY: ¥750 for a child aged 2–6 on weekdays. The plan page does not list a separate adult price, so check on site.

Common questions

Can my child go in alone?

No. KIT PLAY, Kidsland US and The Kids all say children must come with a guardian. KIT PLAY says elementary school children and younger cannot enter alone, and an adult aged 18 or over must come. Tondemi says elementary school children need a guardian, and a high school student does not count.

Do I need socks?

KIT PLAY needs socks, and you can buy a pair on the day for ¥200. At Tondemi, bring your Tondemi socks from your second visit; it costs ¥300 if you forget them.

Can I bring food?

The Kids and Kidsland US both allow food. Eat only in the places they set aside, and do not bring alcohol.

Can I go out and come back in?

The Kids says you can go in and out as many times as you like after check-in. Kidsland US says the child and the guardian must return together, and the guardian may change.
