Fukuoka City Central Children’s Hall “Aikuru” is a year-round facility for ages from infant to high-school age, on the 6th floor of Tenjin CLASS (Imaizumi, Chuo Ward). It is a complex that includes the Children’s Plaza “Nobi-Nobi,” open late until 21:00, though how long each age group may stay is limited (elementary schoolers until 18:00, junior high schoolers until 19:00, except with a guardian). It is closed Mondays and at month-end (our article on Aikuru). Fukuoka City Central Children’s Hall Aikuru (official site)

3. How to choose

If you want to let a young child play without spending money, the free Children’s Plazas or the Central Children’s Hall “Aikuru” are good choices. If you want your kids, including elementary schoolers, to move around more, consider the timed indoor play parks (Kids Land US, Fantasy Kids Resort) or the no-time-limit Fukuoka Toy Museum. If parking capacity matters to you, Kids Land US Fukuoka Islandeye (1,123 spaces) and the Hisayama location (737 spaces, free) both have plenty of room.
