This guide covers three ways to pre-order a Christmas cake in Yamaguchi Prefecture for 2026: the Yamaguchi Grand Hotel (Shin-Yamaguchi), Kasinoki (果子乃季, a Yamaguchi sweets maker with pickup at 38 locations) and the Daimaru Shimonoseki store’s delivery through the Daimaru Matsuzakaya Online Store. It gives the deadlines, the pickup or delivery dates, and the steps on each order page. The order pages are in Japanese.
In short
- Kasinoki takes web orders from October 1 to December 15, 2026, and gives 15% off for orders paid by October 31.

1. How do I choose?
Depends on the seller
Yamaguchi’s cities are far apart, so start with where you will pick the cake up. The Yamaguchi Grand Hotel has one pickup place, near Shin-Yamaguchi Station. Kasinoki lets you choose from 38 pickup places across the prefecture. Daimaru Shimonoseki’s cakes are delivered frozen to an address in Japan (not Okinawa or remote islands), so they suit people who cannot go to a shop.
2. Yamaguchi Grand Hotel (山口グランドホテル)
Shin-Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi City
The hotel takes orders until Sunday, December 20, and hands the cakes over from Tuesday, December 22 to Friday, December 25, according to its 2026 flyer. The hotel’s page says there is a gift for orders made by October 31, but it does not say what the gift is.
Cakes on the flyer:
- Amaou strawberry mille-feuille (8 cm × 18 cm): ¥8,000. Limited to 20.
- Shine Muscat tart (15 cm): ¥7,000. Limited to 20.
- Fresh cream decoration cake: 15 cm ¥4,500, 18 cm ¥5,200.
- Strawberry tart: 15 cm ¥4,700, 18 cm ¥5,900.
- Noel Chocolat: 15 cm ¥4,000, 18 cm ¥4,800.
- Noel de Mont Blanc (8 cm × 20 cm): ¥4,800.
The flyer also lists hors d’oeuvre platters: a Western one for 4–5 people at ¥17,000 (¥20,000 with a 15 cm cake), and a Chinese one for 3–4 people at ¥7,500.
How to order, step by step:
- Choose how to order. You can phone 083-972-7777, fax 083-972-7393, or use the hotel’s take-out reservation form.
- On the form, pick pickup. The form has a choice between delivery (配達希望) and pickup at the hotel (ご来店引き取り). It also asks for your name, furigana, phone number, email, order details and desired date and time.
- Mind the form’s cut-off. The form accepts orders until 17:00 two days before your pickup date. For same-day or next-day orders, phone instead.
- To cancel, phone the hotel. The form cannot cancel a booking.
The hotel’s site has a language menu (Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean), but the form’s labels on the page we read were in Japanese.
The hotel is about a 3-minute walk from the Shinkansen exit of JR Shin-Yamaguchi Station. Its access page lists 150 parking spaces. The free-parking rules on that page are for hotel guests and for restaurant, café and banquet users, and they do not mention cake pickup, so ask when you order.

Kasinoki is the sweets brand of Asahi Seika (あさひ製菓), which is based in Yanai, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Its online shop takes Christmas orders from October 1 to December 15. Orders paid by October 31 get 15% off. The shop says the discount applies to Christmas cakes for store pickup, pizza and hors d’oeuvre, but not to stollen or the charity project. Shipping charges are not discounted.

Egg-allergy versions of Santa’s Christmas (12 cm ¥3,825 to 24 cm ¥8,925) and Chou Chou Premium 2026 are sold on the same shop. The standard Santa’s Christmas product page lists wheat, egg, milk, soy and gelatin, and says the cakes are made on the same line and in the same room as products that contain other allergens. Tell the shop about any allergy before you order.
How to order on the web shop (kasinoki.shop, in Japanese):
- Open the Christmas category (クリスマス【10/1-12/15】) and choose a store-pickup cake (店頭受取).
- Pick a pickup date. The date list runs from December 1 to December 25, and the page says the earliest date is 4 days after you order. For example, an order on December 1 can be picked up from December 5.
- Pick a one-hour time slot. The slots run from 10:00–11:00 to 17:00–18:00.
- Pick a pickup store from the list of 38, then tick “Yes” (はい) to confirm that you pay before pickup.
The pickup list includes, in Yamaguchi City, the Yume Town Yamaguchi store (ゆめタウン山口店), the Shin-Yamaguchi Station store (新山口駅店), the Ogori Plats store (小郡プラッツ店), the Ouchi store (大内店) and the Hirakawa store (平川店). In Shimonoseki City it lists the Yume Town Chofu store (ゆめタウン長府店), the Kumano store (熊野店) and the Daimaru Shimonoseki store (大丸下関店). In Ube City it lists the Higashi-Kiwa store (東岐波店).

The store’s own notice says Daimaru Shimonoseki will close on Tuesday, August 31, 2027. It keeps its usual hours until then.
Daimaru Shimonoseki is right in front of JR Shimonoseki Station. The Sea Mall parking lot is open 24 hours at ¥100 per 30 minutes (¥50 per 30 minutes from 19:00 to 7:00), and the store says shopping in Sea Mall Shimonoseki gives 3 hours free.
